The Sims 4 Explores History in "Blast From the Past" Update

by Stella Feb 24,2025

Week 2 of The Sims 4's Blast from the Past event presents a puzzling challenge: studying a Historical Display. This guide clarifies how to complete this seemingly simple, yet sometimes problematic, task.

A museum in The Sims 4 showcasing a Historical Display.

Locating a Historical Display:

The Week 2 quest requires interaction with a Historical Display, found within a museum. Museums are easily identified on the in-game map by their pillar icon. While several exist, the Municipal Museum in Willow Creek and The Future's Past in Oasis Springs are conveniently located near other event tasks.

Completing the Task:

Once inside a museum, locate a painting or sculpture (both qualify as Historical Displays). Clicking on the chosen item will present a "View" option. Selecting "View" will complete the quest, indicated by the appearance of the Emit icon.

Troubleshooting Common Issues:

Players frequently encounter difficulties with this quest, often due to conflicting mods. If the "View" option is unavailable, consider temporarily disabling mods to resolve the issue. If the problem persists, attempting to view multiple displays in different museums may provide a workaround. EA's awareness of this issue is hoped for, pending a future patch.
