Currently in its playtest phase, Town Stories blends classic Sims building with character-driven narratives. Players construct neighbourhoods, guide residents on personal journeys, advance careers, and uncover secrets within the town of Plumbrook. Early footage reveals a gameplay style reminiscent of previous Sims titles, suggesting EA is experimenting with concepts for future development.

While the game is listed on the Google Play Store, it's not yet globally available and requires registration through EA's website for Australian players. Initial reactions have been mixed, with some expressing concerns about the graphics and the potential for microtransactions.
