New Social and Rural Life Sim "Morikomori Life" Features Ghibli-Style Artwork

The much-anticipated game, Morikomori Life, has finally been released on Android and iOS platforms, but currently, it's exclusively available in Japan. This time, Realfun Studio is behind its publication. Originally launched in China by Level Infinite under Tencent Games, the Chinese version was unfortunately discontinued about a year ago.

The Rural Farm Life Sim Is Back

One of the standout features of Morikomori Life is its captivating visuals. The developers have masterfully captured the essence of a cozy lifestyle through anime-inspired art, specifically reminiscent of Studio Ghibli's enchanting style. These visuals are not just any generic, AI-generated art; they look like they've been directly lifted from a Ghibli animated feature.

In the game, you step into the shoes of Kaon, a young Japanese girl who receives a mysterious letter from her grandmother, urging her to visit the village of Komori. This village, where Kaon spent her childhood, sets the stage for a journey of rediscovery and embracing a peaceful rural life. The 3D toon shading enhances the warmth of the Japanese landscapes, making them feel like the real countryside.

Morikomori Life Lets You Experience Slow-Paced Living

Morikomori Life is all about embracing the slow-paced, slice-of-life experience. Players can engage in a variety of activities such as farming, cooking, fishing, hunting, and even constructing their own home. You'll find yourself chopping wood, mining for ore, and discovering rare materials as you explore the world.

As you gather resources, you'll unlock new opportunities to upgrade your house and enrich your lifestyle. Customize Kaon's appearance to match your personal style, meet and befriend villagers, prepare meals from foraged ingredients, and assist with various tasks around the village.

The game also offers an open-world experience, allowing you the freedom to wander and encounter delightful surprises. Currently, Morikomori Life is available on Android in Japan through the Google Play Store. There's no confirmation yet on a global release, so keep an eye out for updates.
