SoMoGa Revamps 16-Bit JRPG Classic Vay for Android
SoMoGa Inc. has launched an exciting revamped version of the classic 16-bit RPG, Vay, now available on Android, iOS, and Steam. This timeless game, originally released in Japan in 1993 on the Sega CD by Hertz and localized for the US by Working Designs, was re-released by SoMoGa on iOS in 2008. Now, it's back with enhanced visuals, an improved user interface, and support for controllers, breathing new life into this cherished title.
What’s New In Revamped Vay?
Vay revamped boasts over 100 enemies and a dozen epic bosses, offering players the chance to explore more than 90 diverse areas brimming with adventure. One of the standout features is the user-selectable difficulty levels, allowing players to tailor their gaming experience. Additionally, the game includes an auto-save feature for peace of mind, and supports Bluetooth controllers for a more versatile gameplay experience. As you progress, you can purchase new gear and items, and your characters will level up, unlocking new spells. The revamped version also introduces an AI system, enabling characters to fight autonomously, enhancing the strategic depth of battles.
What’s The Story?
Set in a distant galaxy, Vay's narrative unfolds after a catastrophic interstellar war that occurred a millennium ago. A colossal machine with a malfunctioning guidance system crash-landed on the planet Vay, a world with minimal technology. This machine, programmed for destruction, unleashed chaos, devastating everything in its path.
In Vay, you embark on a gripping quest to rescue your kidnapped wife and potentially save the entire world. The story begins on your wedding day, as your peaceful kingdom falls under attack and your bride is abducted. Your journey takes you across the world to confront and stop the destructive war machines. The game's narrative captures your attention from the outset, blending nostalgia with fresh elements while staying true to its JRPG roots. Characters gain experience and gold through random encounters, and the game features nearly ten minutes of animated cutscenes, available in both English and Japanese audio.
Don't miss out on the chance to experience Vay revamped, available now on the Google Play Store as a premium title for $5.99. And while you're at it, be sure to check out our other news, including the Loving Reveries Update in Tears Of Themis, where you can unlock love and goodies.
