Spider-Man vs. Godzilla: Iconic Clash in Japan

Get ready for a colossal clash! Marvel Comics is unleashing a series of one-shot crossover specials pitting Godzilla against some of its most iconic heroes. IGN exclusively reveals the third installment: Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1.

Following Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four #1 and Godzilla vs. Hulk #1, this new comic throws Spider-Man into the fray. This retro-styled story, set after 1984's Secret Wars, finds Peter Parker still adjusting to his symbiote suit. He'll need all his new abilities to face the King of the Monsters.

Godzilla vs. Spider-Man #1 boasts a stellar creative team: Joe Kelly (soon to relaunch The Amazing Spider-Man) on writing duties, Nick Bradshaw (known for Wolverine and the X-Men) on art, and cover art by Bradshaw, Lee Garbett, and Greg Land.

"The moment I heard about an '80s-set Godzilla/Spidey crossover, I practically jumped for it," Kelly shared with IGN. "This comic lets us go wild with two legendary characters, capturing the era's energy. Nick Bradshaw perfectly captures the absurdity while giving Godzilla and Spidey (in his, shall we say, unique black suit) the gravitas they deserve. It's a love letter with an earth-shattering roar!"

This isn't the first superhero-Godzilla showdown. DC's Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong (with a sequel in the works) featured the MonsterVerse versions. Marvel's series, however, utilizes classic Toho Godzilla.

This announcement follows IDW's Godzilla vs. Los Angeles #1, an anthology benefiting wildfire relief.
