What a Spider-Tracer Is in Marvel Rivals & How To Use One
Mastering Spider-Man's Spider-Tracer in Marvel Rivals: A Comprehensive Guide
Whether you're a seasoned Spider-Man player or tackling Marvel Rivals challenges, understanding the Spider-Tracer mechanic is crucial for success. This guide explains what a Spider-Tracer is and how to effectively utilize it in combat.
What is a Spider-Tracer?
While Marvel Rivals doesn't explicitly define it, a Spider-Tracer is a marker left by Spider-Man after using his Web-Cluster ability (LT on console, Right Click on PC). Although the Web-Cluster itself inflicts minimal damage, the Spider-Tracer significantly enhances subsequent attacks, making it a key element of effective Spider-Man gameplay.
Utilizing the Spider-Tracer
The Web-Cluster has a five-shot capacity, allowing for five simultaneous Spider-Tracers. Hitting an opponent with the Web-Cluster applies the tracer, boosting the damage and altering the functionality of several of Spider-Man's moves:
- Spider-Power (R2/Left Click): This attack deals increased damage to a Spider-Tracer-marked enemy.
- Get Over Here! (R1/E): Instead of pulling the enemy to Spider-Man, this ability pulls Spider-Man to the marked enemy. Strategic use is crucial, considering potential team support for the opponent.
- Amazing Combo (Square/X/F): This move inflicts heightened damage on a tagged opponent.
Optimal Spider-Tracer Combos
The most impactful Spider-Tracer combo involves the Amazing Combo, which delivers a substantial 110 damage boost when used on a marked enemy. This can be followed up by a Spider-Power attack for maximum effect.
While Get Over Here! with a Spider-Tracer reverses the pull, it's a high-risk, high-reward maneuver. It's best suited for engaging enemies out of position, but caution is advised when facing a coordinated team.
