Squad Busters Unveils Major Hero Update Now Live
The much-anticipated new Hero update for Squad Busters is now live, bringing a fresh twist to the game that Supercell hopes will reignite player interest. At the heart of this update are the new Heroes, who are set to redefine the gameplay dynamics, with squaddies now playing a supportive role. Players can now leverage their Heroes' power moves, upgrade their squaddies, and dive into faster, more intense battles.
Squad Busters has experienced fluctuating popularity since its launch. While it retains its core appeal as an accessible MOBA-like game, it hasn't fully met the expectations set by Supercell. However, this latest update, touted as the most significant in Supercell's portfolio in over 15 years, promises to revitalize the game. The update fundamentally shifts the gameplay by introducing a split between Heroes and Squaddies. Heroes, now the central figures, come with unique abilities and passives, while Squaddies serve as the upgradable support units during matches. A key change is that squads no longer need to stop to attack, enhancing the fluidity of battles.
I need a hero - This update transforms Squad Busters from a pseudo-RTS MOBA into a more traditional MOBA experience. The focus is now squarely on utilizing Heroes and their 'power moves' effectively, with squaddies enhancing their capabilities. While some may miss the original gameplay, the shift towards heroes makes player actions more impactful and engaging.
Although Squad Busters initially captured my interest, it didn't become a regular go-to game for me. However, the new emphasis on heroes could change that, making the game more compelling.
