Romancing SaGa Re:universe Global Server Closure Announced

The global version of Romancing SaGa Re:universe will officially cease operations on December 2nd, 2024. While this may come as a surprise to some, the Japanese version will continue running.

Two Months Remain

With the shutdown date approaching, in-app purchases of jewels and Google Play Points exchanges have already been discontinued following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance. Players have approximately two months of gameplay remaining.

A Mixed Legacy

Launched globally in June 2020, the game enjoyed a four-year run marked by both successes and challenges. Despite its impressive visuals, soundtrack, and generous gacha mechanics, Romancing SaGa Re:universe received mixed player feedback. Unlike its popular Japanese counterpart, the global version lacked significant content updates, notably the Solistia content and 6-star unit upgrades, which contributed to player dissatisfaction.

Square Enix's Recent Closures

This closure follows Square Enix's recent shutdowns of several other mobile titles, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile games.
