Take-Two Discloses GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 Sales Figures

Despite being over a decade old, Grand Theft Auto 5 continues to be a blockbuster hit, having sold an impressive 5 million copies in the last three months alone. Since its launch in September 2013, GTA 5 has cemented its status as one of the best-selling games of all time.

Meanwhile, Red Dead Redemption 2 is also experiencing a surge in sales, reaching a total of 70 million copies sold, with an increase of 3 million units in the last quarter. This game, released in October 2018, continues to captivate players worldwide.

The ongoing success of GTA Online, the multiplayer component of GTA 5, plays a significant role in the franchise's enduring popularity. Take-Two Interactive keeps the community engaged with regular updates, such as the Agents of Sabotage release in December 2024.

Looking ahead, fans have much to anticipate. Take-Two has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 is slated for a fall 2025 release, promising to be one of the most eagerly awaited games in history. Additionally, Mafia: The Old Country is expected to hit the shelves in the summer, followed by Borderlands 4 later in the year.

If you're worried about potential delays for Grand Theft Auto VI, take a moment to relax. The game is still on track for a fall release, as mentioned in Take-Two's latest financial presentation. While Borderlands 4 is also confirmed for release this year, specific dates have yet to be announced.

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, emphasized Rockstar's meticulous approach to development, noting that, similar to previous projects like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, additional time may be needed to ensure the highest quality product.
