TSA Alerts: Don't Fly with Call of Duty Zombies Monkey Bomb Figurine

If you're a fan of video game merchandise and planning to travel, you might want to reconsider packing any items that resemble weapons from games like Call of Duty. A recent post by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) serves as a reminder about prohibited items, spotlighting a replica figurine of the Monkey Bomb from Call of Duty's Zombies mode found in a checked bag at Boston Logan International Airport.

The Monkey Bomb, also known as the Cymbal Monkey, is a familiar item in various Call of Duty games, from World at War to Black Ops 6. This particular figurine is designed to hold a game controller, but its design, complete with dynamite and cables, closely mimics an explosive device.

"This monkey may rack up points in a game, but in real life, leave the gear for your loadout screen, not your baggage," the TSA's post emphasized. It's clear that replica weapons and explosives, no matter how collectible or appealing, are not permitted in either carry-on or checked baggage.

PlayThe TSA's guidelines extend to other toy weapons as well, including "squirt guns, Nerf guns, toy swords, or other items that resemble realistic firearms or weapons." This could be seen as a testament to the quality of the Monkey Bomb replica, as it looks convincingly like an actual weapon.

When heading to conventions or places where you might acquire such merchandise, it's crucial to remember the TSA's stance. Whether it's a Monkey Bomb figurine or Naruto-themed throwing knives, if the TSA believes an item poses a security threat, it will be prohibited in both checked and carry-on baggage, even if it's just a replica.
