Ubisoft Confirms More “Driver” Projects After Cancelation of Show Adaptation

Ubisoft has officially confirmed to Game File that the much-anticipated live-action adaptation of the Driver series, their renowned action-adventure driving games, will not be proceeding. Initially announced in 2021, the series was set to be exclusively streamed on Binge.com. Ubisoft's head of Film & Television, Danielle Kreinik, expressed their enthusiasm at the time, stating, "Our mission is to bring our games to life in new and exciting ways and create content set in the world, culture, and community of gaming."

Unfortunately, the project hit a roadblock when Hotrod Tanner LLC, Ubisoft's movie-related subsidiary named after the Driver's main character, closed down in January. A Ubisoft spokesperson shared with Game File, "We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series."

However, fans of the Driver franchise should not lose hope. Ubisoft has promised that they are "actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise." While specifics remain under wraps, Ubisoft is eager to unveil these new ventures to the world in the near future. Stay tuned for more thrilling updates on the Driver series!
