Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been hit with another delay, pushing its release date to October 2025. This latest delay, though smaller compared to previous schedule changes, was announced subtly in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. The game was originally slated for release in the first half of 2025, but this new timeline promises that the game itself is now complete.

“The status of the game right now is that the game is done,” stated Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Executive Producer Marco Behrmann. “We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases.”

While the delay adds to the long list of setbacks fans have faced over the years, the accompanying video brings some positive news. The Chinese Room has added more content, enhanced narrative depth, and improved character development since the last major update. They've also promised that the character Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline at launch. However, updates will be less frequent going forward, as announced on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, a narrative-driven vampire game, has faced numerous delays since its announcement in 2019. Initially developed by Hardsuit Labs with a planned release in Q1 2020, it was first delayed to late 2020. Subsequent delays pushed the release to 2021, and in March 2021, Hardsuit faced layoffs. In a significant shift, Hardsuit was replaced by The Chinese Room in 2023, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, after one more delay, fans are set to experience the game in October 2025.

With the game's release date now set for this fall, there's cautious optimism from The Chinese Room. If Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 achieves a successful launch, Paradox has hinted that "someone else" will take on the development of Bloodlines 3.
