Watch Dogs Mobile Arrives: Ubisoft Series Debuts on Smartphones

Ubisoft's hacking-focused Watch Dogs series is branching out—to Audible! Instead of a traditional mobile game, Watch Dogs: Truth is an interactive audio adventure. Players shape the narrative by making crucial decisions that guide DedSec's actions.

This isn't Ubisoft's first foray into interactive audio; choose-your-own-adventure stories have a long history, dating back to the 1930s. In Watch Dogs: Truth, DedSec faces a new threat in a near-future London setting, aided by the AI Bagley.

The release is surprising, considering the Watch Dogs franchise's age (roughly the same as Clash of Clans!). While the mobile debut takes an unconventional form, the interactive audio adventure format holds potential. The relatively low-key marketing is noteworthy, however. The success of Watch Dogs: Truth will depend on player reception. It will be interesting to see how this experiment is received.
