Weekly Challenges: The Battle of Polytopia's New Game Mode
The Battle of Polytopia has introduced an exciting new competitive element with the launch of Weekly Challenges, offering players a fresh way to test their skills in this popular 4X strategy game. Keep reading to discover how this feature can enhance your gameplay experience.
It Was Random Before
If you're a fan of The Battle of Polytopia, you're no stranger to the game's inherent randomness, from its diverse enemies and resources to its ever-changing maps. This unpredictability keeps each session fresh and challenging. However, with the latest free update, the game is taking a more structured approach to competition.
Each week, all players will face the same map, tribe, and gameplay conditions. The challenge is straightforward: within 20 turns, you must achieve the highest score possible. You're allowed one attempt per day, giving you a maximum of seven tries each week to climb the ranks.
One of the most intriguing aspects of Weekly Challenges is the opportunity to play as tribes you may not yet own. The Battle of Polytopia boasts 16 tribes in total—four come with the base game, and the other twelve are available for purchase at $1-4 each. But here's the twist: in these Weekly Challenges, everyone competes with the same tribe, regardless of whether they've unlocked it or not.

Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?
I certainly believe so. The new mode also introduces a League system that adds another layer of competition. Starting in the Entry League, your performance each week determines whether you move up or down. The top third of players advance to the next league, the bottom third drop down, and those in the middle remain in their current league.
As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty level scales accordingly. In the Entry League, you'll face AI on Easy difficulty, but by the time you reach the Gold League, you'll be up against Crazy difficulty bots. If you miss a week, you won't be demoted, but your ranking will adjust based on the performance of others.
