Wolcen Unveils New "ExtrAction RPG" Project Pantheon
Wolcen Studio has announced Project Pantheon, a free-to-play action RPG incorporating elements of extraction shooter gameplay. A closed alpha test begins January 25th in Europe, expanding to North America on February 1st.
Game director Andrei Cirkulete describes the game as a blend of "the tension and risk-reward of an extraction shooter with the battle dynamics of a combat RPG," suggesting a fusion of titles like Diablo and Escape from Tarkov. Player feedback is highly valued during this alpha phase.
Players assume the role of a Death messenger, striving to restore order to a ravaged world. Gameplay involves battling AI and other players across various maps. Successful extractions preserve earned trophies, while failed attempts result in complete loot loss.
The game offers extensive customization options, including base building, equipment personalization, and diverse playstyles. The game world draws inspiration from global mythologies, with player trading forming the core of its economic system.
Initial adventures will unfold in "Destiny's Edge," a region inspired by Scandinavian folklore. Despite being in early alpha, the developers plan to actively collaborate with the community to shape Project Pantheon's development.
