WoW's 2025 Six-Month Subscription Deal Announced

World of Warcraft is offering a new pair of in-game rewards for players subscribing for at least six months: the Timbered Sky Snake mount for retail WoW and the Timbered Air Snakelet pet for Classic WoW. Inspired by the 2025 Zodiac sign, these items will be granted to eligible players by January 31, 2025.

Since 2018, World of Warcraft has provided bonus in-game items for longer subscriptions, typically updated in January and July. Past rewards often reflected the lunar Zodiac sign of the year, such as the 2024 Auspicious Arborwyrm (Year of the Wood Dragon).

The Timbered Sky Snake, a flying mount for retail WoW, and the Timbered Air Snakelet pet for Cataclysm Classic, represent the Year of the Wood Snake. These can be obtained by purchasing a six-month (or longer) subscription, or individually from the in-game shop ($25 for the mount, $10 for the pet). A separate Timbered Sky Snakelet pet for retail WoW is also available for $10 on the Battle.net shop but isn't included in the subscription offer.

Existing subscribers will also receive these rewards. Rewards are added to qualifying Battle.net accounts by January 31, 2025, and must be redeemed before the same date in 2026. They will likely be replaced then with items themed to the Year of the Fire Horse.

Twelve-month subscribers receive additional rewards: the Startouched Furline, Gigantic Grrloc, and Charming Courier mounts (retail WoW), and the Lava Drake mount and Swoopy pet (Classic WoW). They also automatically receive the July six-month subscription rewards, making it a particularly attractive offer for mount collectors.

World of Warcraft's 2025 roadmap includes two major patches for retail WoW (starting with 11.1), potential player housing, and Classic WoW progression servers moving to Mists of Pandaria, with anniversary realms progressing through vanilla and The Burning Crusade. With significant updates planned, now is an opportune time to secure a longer subscription.
