Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced

Microsoft has revealed the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct: January 23rd, 2025. This marks the third annual installment of this showcase event, kicking off the year's Xbox game announcements.

The first Xbox Developer Direct debuted in January 2023, followed by a second in January 2024. Maintaining this January tradition, the 2025 event is scheduled for 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT. This announcement follows earlier rumors circulating on January 9th.

Microsoft has confirmed three titles:

• South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few), initially announced in June 2023. A release date may finally be revealed.
• Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive (France), aiming for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
• Doom: The Dark Ages: From id Software, initially announced in June 2024 and showcased (demo) at QuakeCon 2024. Currently rumored for a mid-2025 launch.

While these three games are confirmed, previous Developer Directs (lasting over 40 minutes each) have featured multiple titles. The 2024 event showcased Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana. Expect potential surprises at the 2025 event.
