The PMRC Rondo Cup 2025 concluded this past weekend, marking a thrilling end to a high-stakes PUBG Mobile esports tournament. Team Yangon Galacticos emerged victorious, securing the championship title and the lion's share of the impressive $20,000 prize pool generously offered by PUBG.

The tournament unfolded on PUBG's latest and largest map to date, Rondo. This new map hosted 16 teams who had earned their spots through various qualifying tournaments, including D'Xavier at PMSL SEA Spring, Rangers at PMCL Spring, and R3GICIDE at PMSL CSA Fall.

Yangon Galacticos clinched the win under the innovative SMASH format rules introduced for the PMRC Rondo Cup. The new rules stipulated that a team needed to accumulate 30+ points and secure a victory in a separate match to claim the title. However, since no team managed to meet these criteria after six matches, the championship was awarded to Yangon Galacticos due to their overwhelming points lead.

Arondo the worldWith HORAA Esports and Bigetron Esports securing the second and third positions respectively, the Rondo Cup has undoubtedly been a resounding success for PUBG Mobile, further solidifying their ambitious esports plans that have been on the rise since 2024.

Ironically, the inaugural tournament to implement the SMASH rule did not see a winner emerge via this format. Whether the SMASH rule will make a comeback in future tournaments depends on the organizers' assessment of its potential to enhance skilled and entertaining gameplay.
