Bloodmoon Island, a mysterious location northeast of Cloisterwood on Reaper's Coast, is shrouded in Deathfog, its connecting bridge destroyed. Reaching it is crucial for progressing the main storyline and accessing side quests, but the game offers little guidance. Here's how to overcome this obstacle in Divinity: Original Sin 2.

Spirit Vision Shows the Way

Bloodmoon Island Bridge

The seemingly impassable bridge, once connecting Bloodmoon Island to the mainland, offers a path if you utilize Spirit Vision. The bridge is fragmented, requiring careful traversal. Several methods exist:

  1. Gloves of Teleportation: Acquired early in Act 1, these allow teleporting party members across the broken sections, albeit tediously.

  2. Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat enable teleporting, but their availability depends on your party composition.

  3. Teleporter Pyramids: Two pyramids are needed. Have a character with a translocation skill carry one, cross the bridge, and then use the second pyramid to teleport the rest of the party to their location.

  4. Fast Travel: Once a character reaches Bloodmoon Island using any method above, the rest of the party can fast travel there using the newly discovered waypoint.

Take the Ferry Across the Deathfog

Undead Ferryman

For parties including Fane, an alternative exists. Fane's undead nature grants immunity to the Deathfog. A pier northwest of Cloisterwood houses an undead ferryman who offers passage. This is a deceptive offer; only Fane survives the crossing. He can then activate the Bloodmoon Island waypoint, allowing the rest of the party to fast travel.

Taking the Ferry Without Fane in the Party

If Fane isn't in your party, and you still want to use the ferry, two Teleporter Pyramids are essential:

  1. Equip a companion with a pyramid.
  2. Send that companion via the ferry (resulting in their death upon arrival).
  3. Use the second pyramid to teleport the rest of the party to the deceased companion.
  4. Revive the companion using resurrection spells or scrolls.

However, for parties without Fane, the bridge method remains the more efficient approach.

Avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman unless you've saved your game. He retaliates with Deathfog, instantly killing those nearby. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP.
