LEGO Launches In-House Gaming Ventures

by Thomas May 15,2025

LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has shared exciting news about the company's future, highlighting a significant push into the digital realm through the development of video games. This strategic move will see LEGO both creating its own titles and collaborating with other developers. Christiansen emphasized the importance of maintaining the LEGO brand across all platforms, stating, "We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing."

This expansion into gaming does not mean LEGO will abandon its successful partnerships with third-party developers. For example, recent reports from journalist Jason Schreier indicate that TT Games, renowned for their LEGO-themed titles, is currently developing a new LEGO game, possibly linked to a Warner Bros. franchise.

LEGO's most notable gaming collaboration to date is with Epic Games. The introduction of a LEGO-themed mode in Fortnite last year was a smashing success, quickly becoming one of the game's most beloved features. This collaboration underscores LEGO's commitment to blending its iconic brand with popular digital platforms.

Over the past two decades, LEGO has been closely associated with the adventure game series developed by TT Games. Although new releases from the studio have been sparse recently, there are whispers of a new LEGO Harry Potter game in development, fueled by the commercial success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

Furthermore, LEGO's partnership with 2K Games resulted in the launch of LEGO 2K Drive last year, a racing game that exemplifies the brand's adaptability and innovation within the gaming industry.
