"Monster Hunter Wilds Adds Paid Microtransactions"
Capcom has unveiled an exciting new feature in *Monster Hunter Wilds* that lets players customize the appearance of their hunter and Palico. The initial customization is complimentary, allowing everyone to dive into the game with their unique look. However, for those who wish to make additional changes, Capcom has introduced Character Edit Vouchers. These vouchers can be purchased in packs of three for just $6, or you can grab a combined set for both your hunter and Palico for $10. Without these vouchers, your customization options are limited to hairstyles, eyebrow color, makeup, and clothing, with core facial features remaining unchanged.

This monetization strategy was not mentioned during the early previews of the game, and it was only disclosed last week through Capcom's social media channels. Despite the controversy surrounding microtransactions and some performance hiccups, *Monster Hunter Wilds* has shattered records, boasting over 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam at its launch.
Capcom has yet to respond to the community's feedback on this new system. Players have voiced their frustration with the paid customization model, drawing unfavorable comparisons to previous games in the series where such changes were either free or could be earned with in-game currency. Many fans believe that this new approach detracts from what was once a cherished aspect of the *Monster Hunter* franchise.
