"We Are Muesli Launches 'In Their Shoes' Mobile Narrative Game"
Indie studio *We Are Muesli* has unveiled its latest narrative-driven project titled *[ttpp]*In Their Shoes[/ttpp]*, a deeply immersive storytelling game set to launch in 2026 across both mobile and PC platforms. The game has already garnered attention, earning a nomination at the prestigious independent and arthouse games festival ‘A MAZE. 2025’ in Berlin.
In Their Shoes: A Narrative Game Centered Around Listening
Set in modern-day Milan—a city of contrasts—*In Their Shoes* invites players to step into the lives of seven distinct characters. Each character’s story unfolds through 49 brief yet emotionally rich interactive episodes known as Moments. These Moments offer intimate snapshots into the everyday experiences of each individual, capturing the rhythm of their lives with nuance and care.
Each Moment allows you to engage with the character's internal world—hesitations, routines, and spontaneous decisions. Some Moments unfold slowly, giving you time to reflect alongside the character’s thoughts, while others demand quick reactions, mirroring the unpredictable nature of real-life situations.
The narrative structure of *In Their Shoes* is intentionally fragmented, avoiding the clean arcs typical of many narrative games. As you navigate through the stories, you’ll gradually uncover 26 hidden biographical details for each character, enriching your understanding of their lives. This approach delivers a true slice-of-life experience, emphasizing realism over resolution.
