Pokémon GO’s Final Strike: GO Battle Week will Debut Urshifu and Gigantamax Machamp

As the Might and Mastery season in Pokémon GO draws to a close, the exciting Final Strike: GO Battle Week is set to kick off on May 21st, 2025, and will run until May 27th. This final week offers players a thrilling opportunity to evolve their Kubfu into the legendary Urshifu in two distinct forms: Single Strike or Rapid Strike. To unlock Single Strike, ensure Kubfu is your buddy and defeat 30 Dark-type Pokémon in raids or Max Battles. For the Rapid Strike style, follow the same process but target 30 Water-type Pokémon during the Final Strike: GO Battle Week.

In addition to the evolution event, a Special Research storyline continues throughout the season. This research is available until June 3rd, 2025, and rewards players with Kubfu Candy, Mysterious Components, and encounters with themed Pokémon such as Charcadet featuring a Special Background.

May 25th: Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day

Mark your calendars for May 25th, as it's the Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day. From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, players can engage in six-star Max Battles with Gigantamax Machamp making its debut. This event comes with a host of bonuses: you'll need only one-fourth the normal distance to earn Max Particles, the Max Particle storage limit increases to 1,600, and all Power Spots will feature Gigantamax Battles. During this window, you'll earn 8× Max Particles from Power Spots and can perform two additional Special Trades.

Don't miss out on collecting Max Mushrooms during the event. These items temporarily double the damage output of your Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon. You can use multiple Max Mushrooms to extend the duration of the effect, although the power boost remains consistent.
