Remedy Unveils Latest Game Development Projects

According to Remedy Entertainment's latest annual report, Control 2 has triumphantly passed its concept validation phase and is now in full production. This significant milestone signals that the project is progressing robustly. Fans of the original Control can look forward to the sequel, which is set to be self-published by Remedy and will be available on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. The budget for this ambitious project is pegged at an impressive 50 million euros.

In addition to Control 2, Remedy is also actively developing two other exciting projects: FBC: Firebreak and the much-anticipated remakes of Max Payne 1+2. A year ago, these titles were merely in the preparation stages, but they have now advanced to the next phase of development. FBC: Firebreak comes with a budget of 30 million euros and will be accessible through PlayStation and Xbox subscription services, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store upon release. The remakes of Max Payne 1+2, while shrouded in budget mystery, are confirmed to be AAA-level games, with their development and marketing fully funded by Rockstar Games.

However, not all news from Remedy is positive. The project Kestrel, which was in development in collaboration with Tencent, has been canceled and removed from the studio's lineup. This decision was made back in May of last year.

All these projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary engine, Northlight, which has already demonstrated its prowess in titles like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy ventures. The use of Northlight underscores Remedy's commitment to delivering high-quality gaming experiences across their diverse portfolio.
