"Rune Slayer: A Beginner's Ultimate Guide"

by Ryan Apr 06,2025

After two failed launches and months of anticipation, *Rune Slayer* has finally arrived, and it's nothing short of spectacular. Whether you're new to MMORPGs or a seasoned veteran, diving into *Rune Slayer* can be a thrilling yet daunting experience. Fear not, as we've crafted a comprehensive guide to help you embark on your adventure in *Rune Slayer* with confidence.

Rune Slayer Beginner Tips

Here are some essential tips we wish we had known from the start, which would have made our journey much smoother.

Do not randomly attack other players

When we first heard about *Rune Slayer*'s full-loot PvP system, we braced ourselves for chaos. However, our fears were largely unfounded. **In *Rune Slayer*, dying—even to other players—doesn't result in any permanent loss.** You simply respawn and continue your adventure.

However, there's a catch: **attacking other players earns you a bounty.** The more players you kill, the higher your bounty grows, and the more items you'll drop upon your next death. Essentially, you can turn *Rune Slayer* into a full-loot PvP experience by engaging in player kills, but be prepared to face the consequences.

Our advice? **Avoid attacking other players unless you have a compelling reason or a group of friends to back you up.**

Craft Bags ASAP

You'll quickly realize that both your **bank space and inventory are severely limited.** With only 50 item slots, your inventory can fill up faster than you might expect. To address this, **the game allows you to craft bags.** You can equip up to two bags simultaneously, starting with the **Cotton Bag**.

To craft a Cotton Bag, **gather Cotton from north of Wayshire and Flax from the south** (be cautious of mobs in the southern area). Each Cotton Bag adds an extra 10 slots to your inventory, so prioritize crafting these as soon as possible.

Your pets don’t actually die

There's a common misconception that your tamed pets die permanently when their health reaches zero. This isn't the case.

**When your pet's health drops to zero, it becomes unavailable for summoning for 5 minutes.** You can check the cooldown by holding **T**. Once the cooldown is over, hold **T** again to summon your pet back into action.

Bonus Tip: To **quickly heal your pet**, simply store and unstore it at the stable master. You have one free slot, so make use of it.

Grab all the Quests (Yes, all of them)

*Rune Slayer* is packed with numerous quests, most of which are not repeatable and can be easily forgotten. These quests often follow the familiar "Kill 10 X" format seen in many MMORPGs, and it's easy to overlook their details.

To manage this effectively, **accept every quest you encounter.** Don't hesitate to grab everything from the Job board as well. Completing multiple quests simultaneously is far more efficient than tackling them one by one. You might even find yourself completing several quests at once without realizing it.

Craft everything at least once (even things you don’t need)

While it's crucial to craft items you need, don't overlook the value of crafting items you don't immediately require. **Using spare materials to craft new items can unlock more advanced crafting options.** For instance, smelting your first Iron Ore can unlock a range of new Iron Armor crafts.

So, don't be conservative with your materials; experiment and craft away to discover new possibilities.

Join a Guild

*Rune Slayer* is designed to be solo-friendly, but as you progress, you'll encounter **challenging enemies** that are best tackled in groups. These formidable foes, often with large health bars, are intended for group combat, and **joining a guild is the easiest way to find a team.**

Whether you announce your need for a guild in the general chat or use the official *Rune Slayer* Discord server, finding a guild will enhance your gameplay and help you conquer the toughest challenges.

And that's all you need to know to get started. Enjoy your journey in *Rune Slayer*, and if you haven't already, be sure to check out the *Rune Slayer* Trello and Discord for more tips and community support.
