UPGRADES

While the core game is free, optional upgrades let you customize your playthrough—choose your faction and starting territory size. Unleash your creativity in fantasy battles that pit any two cultures against each other, with as many warriors as your device can support. You can even customize every character in the world—though bear in mind the game actively manages up to 1,000 characters, regularly cycling them in and out.

CONTROLS

When controlling a single character, choose between the "Classic" one-handed control scheme or "Dual Wield," which assigns separate controls for each hand. If you’re new to the series, pause the action anytime by tapping the timeline, then review the "Controls" guide. Keep an eye out for in-game scrolls and books that offer helpful tips.

Switch between team members anytime by tapping their health bar or directly pointing at them on the battlefield. Use the arrows at the screen’s bottom to activate "Commander" mode—zoom out and direct any active unit by swiping from their position to a target location. Whether you’re ordering a move, an attack, or an interaction, they’ll interpret your command based on their current situation and priorities.

No matter your device or control style, you can always zoom in or out by pinching the center of the screen.

MAP

In the main "Campaign" mode, expand your territory by moving units between connected regions. You can "fortify" a held territory or launch an attack on a rival one. Note that only half of the units in a territory are available for travel—making invasions more challenging than defense.

Inhabited territories gain population after each round, so controlling more land is crucial. Units also heal gradually over time, so rotating your focus between different regions each turn is a smart strategy.

PERFORMANCE

Please be aware: this is the most ambitious game I’ve created to date, and it may require a high-end device for optimal performance. To improve framerates, try lowering the "Population" setting to reduce on-screen characters or adjust other options under "Display."
