Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remake to Feature Massive Gameplay Overhaul
A recent report by MP1st reveals details about an unannounced remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The information, reportedly sourced from the anonymous portfolio of a former Virtuos Studios developer, suggests a significant undertaking. The project, utilizing Unreal Engine 5, will reportedly feature extensive overhauls.
The remake will apparently reimagine Oblivion's core mechanics. Expect substantial changes to stamina management, stealth mechanics, attack blocking (drawing inspiration from Soulslike games to address criticisms of the original's system), archery, damage feedback, and the user interface. The damage calculation system will be reworked to include visible reactions to attacks, and stamina is expected to be more intuitive. The UI and archery systems will also receive modernizations.
MP1st speculates that the project's scope has expanded from a simple remaster (as hinted at in leaked Microsoft documents) to a full-blown remake.
While sources confirm the Oblivion remake won't appear at the upcoming Developer_Direct, rumors suggest a potential release within the year.
