Gran Saga Server Shutdown Confirmed for Next Month

NPIXEL has announced the unfortunate closure of Gran Saga, ending its international service on April 30th, 2025. In-app purchases (IAPs) and new downloads have already been disabled. This marks a short lifespan for the global version, which launched only in November 2024.

While Gran Saga enjoyed initial success in its 2021 Japanese release, its global launch failed to gain traction in the fiercely competitive mobile gaming market. The closure is attributed to financial instability and the inability to sustain the game's operation. Established titles with loyal player bases created a challenging environment for a new entrant, even one with prior success in another region.

Gran Saga's closure reflects a broader trend of gacha RPG shutdowns. The market's saturation makes it difficult for new games to compete. Players often remain loyal to established titles, leaving newer games struggling for survival.

Players who made recent in-app purchases and wish to request a refund have until May 30th to submit an inquiry. However, refunds may not be possible in all cases, depending on usage or other store policies.
