Samsung Debuts Budget MicroSD Cards for Switch 2

by Aiden Feb 17,2026

Just ahead of the bustling Black Friday and holiday shopping season, Samsung is launching its own P9 series of MicroSD Express cards. Available in 256GB and 512GB capacities, these new cards are confirmed to be compatible with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. A $5 coupon on Amazon brings the 512GB model down to $94.99 from its $99.99 list price, positioning it as one of the more affordable 512GB options currently available. While Walmart offers its Onn 512GB card for $84.77, our testing found its performance to be notably slower.

The 256GB version is priced at $54.99, undercutting the official $59.99 Switch 2 memory card (which is also manufactured by Samsung). However, if you're considering this capacity, it's worth holding off: Nintendo has announced a Cyber Monday promotion that will drop the price of its official 256GB card to $39.99.

If you haven't yet purchased a Switch 2, now could be an opportune moment. The console is now readily in stock at major retailers like Amazon, with no invitation required. Nintendo has recently increased prices on various Switch 2 accessories and hinted at a potential future price increase for the console itself. We do not anticipate any Black Friday discounts on the Switch 2 console; the only avenues for a cheaper unit would be through imported models from AliExpress or used consoles on eBay and similar marketplaces. For more insights, read our Nintendo Switch 2 review, where Tom Marks characterizes it as "a vital but unexciting upgrade to a console I already love."
