Victoria Hand: Mastering Marvel Snap's Newest Ongoing Card

Marvel Snap's January 2025 Spotlight Cache introduces Victoria Hand, an Ongoing card that boosts the power of cards generated within your hand. While primarily associated with card-generation decks, Victoria Hand surprisingly shines in discard decks as well. This guide explores optimal deck builds for both archetypes, helping you integrate her into the current metagame.

Victoria Hand (2-3)

Ongoing: Cards created in your hand gain +2 Power.

Series: Five (Ultra Rare)

Season: Dark Avengers

Release: January 7, 2025

Top-Tier Victoria Hand Deck (Card Generation)

This deck leverages Victoria Hand's synergy with Devil Dinosaur. The core combo pairs them with key card generators and support cards: Quinjet, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Cosmo, The Collector, Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl.

Card Cost Power
Victoria Hand 2 3
Devil Dinosaur 5 3
The Collector 2 2
Quinjet 1 2
Agent Coulson 3 4
Agent 13 1 2
Mirage 2 2
Frigga 3 4
Kate Bishop 2 3
Moon Girl 4 5
Valentina 2 3
Cosmo 3 3

Flexible slots (Agent 13, Kate Bishop, Frigga) can be substituted with Iron Patriot, Mystique, or Speed depending on your preference and the current meta.

Deck Synergies:

  • Victoria Hand enhances cards generated in your hand.
  • Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl generate cards. (Frigga and Moon Girl also duplicate key cards for additional buffs or disruption.)
  • Quinjet reduces the cost of generated cards, allowing for more efficient play.
  • The Collector's power increases with each generated card.
  • Cosmo serves as a tech card, protecting Victoria Hand and Devil Dinosaur from enemy attacks.
  • Devil Dinosaur is your win condition, ideally played after Moon Girl or when you have numerous generated cards.

Important Note: There are reports suggesting Victoria Hand might buff cards generated in the opponent's hand or cards that change locations. This needs clarification to determine if it's a bug or intended functionality.

Effective Victoria Hand Gameplay Strategies

  1. Energy Management: Balance card generation and energy expenditure. A full hand maximizes Devil Dinosaur's potential, but you need energy to generate cards and utilize Victoria Hand's effect. Sometimes skipping a turn to maintain a full hand is more beneficial than filling the board.
  2. Strategic Deception: Use random cards generated by Victoria Hand to mislead your opponent, masking your next move.
  3. Protecting Your Ongoing Lane: Expect your opponent to target Victoria Hand with tech cards like Enchantress. Play Devil Dinosaur and Victoria Hand in the same lane (creating an Ongoing synergy) and protect them with Cosmo.

Alternative: Victoria Hand Discard Deck

Victoria Hand also finds a place in refined discard decks. A powerful build includes: Helicarrier, MODOK, Morbius, Scorn, Blade, Apocalypse, Swarm, Corvus Glaive, Colleen Wing, Lady Sif, and The Collector.

Card Cost Power
Victoria Hand 2 3
Helicarrier 6 10
Morbius 2 0
Lady Sif 3 5
Scorn 1 2
Blade 1 3
Corvus Glaive 3 5
Colleen Wing 2 4
Apocalypse 6 8
Swarm 2 3
The Collector 2 2
MODOK 5 8

Countering Victoria Hand

Super Skrull is a strong counter, particularly effective against both Victoria Hand and Doctor Doom 2099 decks. Shadow King removes Victoria Hand's buffs in a single lane, while Enchantress disables her Ongoing effect completely. Valkyrie can disrupt power distribution by occupying key enemy lanes.

Is Victoria Hand Worth It?

Yes! Whether acquired through the Spotlight Cache or Tokens, Victoria Hand offers a strong return on investment. While reliant on some RNG, her consistent buffs make her a valuable addition to various decks. Her utility in both card-generation and discard archetypes makes her a highly recommended card.
