Many dungeons in Metaphor: ReFantazio feature formidable mini-bosses preceding the final encounter. Even diligent grinding won't always prevent these red-marked (Fairy Sight) foes from requiring Squad combat.

The Faithwight Magileto in the Spire of Blind Faith is a prime example of such a challenging adversary. Conquering this enemy demands strategic prowess and a bit of luck.

Weakness Repel Resists Blocks
Strike Light Pierce Electric

This level 50 enemy can summon additional level 50 allies, making engagement below level 45 ill-advised.

Faithwight Magiletos utilize potent dark and light magic, targeting either individuals or the entire party. Their arsenal includes Megidolaon, a devastating area-of-effect attack. Passive buffs further amplify the damage of these elements. The Magileto also employs Soul Scream, granting itself four Press Turn icons per turn, and can summon additional level 50 skeletons.

These summoned skeletons possess strong slashing attacks and dark magic, alongside a powerful buff and a highly effective healing spell capable of restoring the Magileto to full health. Their weakness is Strike, highlighting the importance of focusing attacks on this element.

Strategies for Defeating Faithwight Magileto in Metaphor: ReFantazio

Even at level 50, this battle presents a significant challenge; below that level, victory is improbable. Preparation is key:

  • Acquire Dark Dodge from the Magic Knight archetype.
  • Acquire Light Dodge from the Healer archetype.
  • Skill Inherit Strike skills from the Brawler archetype.
  • Utilize the Warlock archetype's resistance to dark and light damage.
  • Leverage the Thief archetype's dark damage resistance.
  • Carry Tetrabreak to counter Tetrakarn used by summoned enemies.

Archetype selection is less critical than maximizing the above points and avoiding weaknesses to dark, light, or slash damage. With numerous unlocked archetypes and Skill Inheritance, prioritize strength-based archetypes. Ensure at least two party members possess party-wide healing spells, and equip every character with a Strike attack to maximize Press Turn icons and facilitate healing.

Luck plays a role, as consecutive Megidolaons are nearly unsurvivable. Equipping most party members with Dark and Light Dodge mitigates this risk. Upon summoning allies, prioritize their swift elimination before they can utilize healing magic. Dekaja can dispel enemy buffs, but the primary goal each turn should be to execute at least six Strike attacks and two party-wide healing spells.
