"MindsEye Performance Problems Addressed Around the Clock Post-Launch"
The development team at Build a Rocket Boy is working around the clock to resolve ongoing performance issues in MindsEye following a turbulent launch. Players have reported a wide range of bugs and technical problems, prompting the studio to prioritize fixes and optimizations in response to community feedback.
MindsEye Launches Amidst Mixed Reception
Widespread Glitches and Technical Problems
MindsEye launched on June 10 to a wave of criticism due to numerous technical flaws affecting gameplay and performance. Players across social media platforms have voiced their frustrations, sharing screenshots, videos, and firsthand accounts of the game's instability.
On Twitter (X), user Synth Potato posted a distorted in-game character image on June 11, captioning it, "MindsEye is not looking too good." The post quickly gained traction, with many users echoing the sentiment—citing severe stuttering, frame rate drops, and crashes, even on high-end hardware such as the PlayStation 5 Pro.
Commonly reported issues include enemies moving erratically during combat, NPCs disappearing or becoming non-functional, and players falling through geometry into endless voids. These bugs have significantly impacted the overall experience, contributing to the game’s "Mixed" user review rating on Steam, with 60% of recent reviews marked as negative.
At Game8, we scored MindsEye a 46 out of 100, criticizing its release as unpolished, poorly optimized, and far below expected standards. Despite the ambitious vision from publisher IO Interactive, the game launched in a state that required much more testing and refinement before reaching players.
