The Realmgate stands as a pivotal element in the endgame of Path of Exile 2, offering a unique pathway distinct from the conventional map nodes. Unlike those nodes, the Realmgate doesn't require Waystones for traversal but instead serves a different purpose altogether.

This comprehensive guide will walk you through locating the Realmgate, utilizing it effectively, and understanding what awaits you on the other side. Proper preparation and knowledge are essential to maximize the benefits of this feature.

How to Find the Realmgate in PoE 2

Locating the Realmgate is straightforward once you're familiar with the mapping phase's starting point. To quickly return to this area, simply click on the floating home icon visible on the mapping screen. This action will refocus your view to where the mapping phase begins, and you'll find the Realmgate right next to the stone Ziggurat.

Be aware that the home icon might occasionally overlap with the red skull icon, which marks the location of the Burning Monolith. These two landmarks are generally in close proximity, so clicking on one will lead you to the other.

How to Use the Realmgate in PoE 2

Unlike the standard map nodes, the Realmgate does not accept Waystones. Its primary function is to facilitate access to the endgame Pinnacle boss fights. Currently, there are four such battles that you can reach through the Realmgate. Here's how to engage with each of them:

  • Xesht, We That Are One (Breach Pinnacle Boss): Gather 300 Breach Splinters and combine them to form a Breachstone. Use this Breachstone at the Realmgate to initiate the battle against Xesht.
  • Olroth, Origin of the Fall (Expeditions Pinnacle Boss): Acquire a Logbook of Level 79 or higher, which drops during Expeditions. Speak to Dannig in your Hideout to use it. Dannig becomes a permanent resident of your Hideout after you encounter him during Expedition maps, alongside other NPCs like Rog, Gwennen, and Tujen.
  • The Simulacrum (Delirium Pinnacle Event): Collect 300 Simulacrum Splinters to craft The Simulacrum. Use it at the Realmgate to enter a map featuring 15 waves of Delirium enemies, ideal for mapping setups.
  • King in the Mists (Ritual Pinnacle Boss): Earn An Audience With the King item through the Ritual Favour system by spending Tribute. Utilize this item at the Realmgate to confront the King in the Mists.

Note that the Trialmaster and Zarokh, the Temporal, who are encountered at the end of the Trial of Chaos and Trial of Sekhemas respectively, are not accessible via the Realmgate but are part of the 4th Ascendancy version.

The ultimate endgame boss, The Arbiter or Ash, is not accessible through the Realmgate either. Instead, you'll find this formidable foe within the Burning Monolith. To challenge this boss, you'll need to collect three Citadel keys, which you can obtain through a quest unlocked upon your first encounter with the Burning Monolith.
