R.E.P.O. Game Saving Guide: Tips and Tricks

by Olivia May 19,2025

Dive into the thrilling world of *R.E.P.O.*, the cooperative horror game where you and up to five friends navigate physics-based maps to retrieve valuables. But, to ensure your efforts don't vanish into thin air, understanding how to save your game is crucial. Let's break down the saving mechanics in *R.E.P.O.* so you can keep your progress intact.

How To Save Your Game in R.E.P.O.

Nothing ruins a gaming session quite like realizing your progress hasn't been saved. This issue is particularly frustrating in new games where the saving system might not be immediately clear. In *R.E.P.O.*, there's no manual save feature; instead, the game relies on autosave to preserve your progress.

The key to saving in *R.E.P.O.* is to complete the level you're on. If you quit or die during a retrieval mission, you'll be sent to the Disposal Arena, and unfortunately, your current save will be lost. You'll have to start that level over from the beginning. The same goes for leaving mid-level; your progress won't be saved, and you'll need to restart.

To successfully save your game, you must finish the level by delivering your valuables to the Extraction Point. Once there, enter the truck or find your way back to it and hold the message button above your head to signal the Taxman, your AI boss, that it's time to head to the Service Station. At the Service Station, you can shop for supplies and then use the same button to proceed to the next level.

After leaving the Service Station, you'll arrive at your next location. This is the safe point to exit to the main menu or quit the game. When you or the host (if another player created the original save file) restarts the game, you can jump back into *R.E.P.O.* and continue from where you left off. Remember, if you're playing with a host, they need to exit at the right time to ensure the game saves correctly for everyone. Once the host quits, all other players will be disconnected.
