طرنيب Tarneeb

Blackjack, or Tarneeb Blackjack as it's known in many Arab countries, particularly the Levant, is a popular card game. In the Arabian Gulf, it's often called "Rule." The goal is to win consecutive Tarneeb rounds. Four players participate, forming two teams of two. Teams play until the end of the rounds, at which point the winner is declared.

The game uses a standard 52-card deck (no Jokers). Play proceeds clockwise from the player to the dealer's left. The four players are divided into two teams of two opposing players.

Cards are dealt clockwise, beginning to the dealer's right.

Bidding: Bidding starts with a minimum of 7 and increases to a maximum of 13 ("Cabot/Livers"). Bidding proceeds clockwise from the dealer, with the highest bidder choosing the Tarneeb (trump) suit.

If a player fails to meet their bid, the difference is deducted from their score. For example, if a player bids 10 but collects only 9, they lose 1 point, and their opponents gain 4 points (the difference plus the points collected).

If a team reaches a score of 5, the difference is revealed.

The game concludes when one team reaches either 61 or 31 points, depending on the agreement made before the game begins.
