Dawnwalker Aims for Top-Tier Quality

In an interview with Games Radar, The Blood of Dawnwalker’s creative director, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, revealed that despite being a smaller studio debuting its first game, the team is pursuing a quality standard comparable to CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3.

When asked about the game’s position between indie and AAA, Tomaszkiewicz clarified, “We’re aiming for AAA quality, drawing from our experience on The Witcher 3.”

Though Rebel Wolves is a new studio, its team is far from inexperienced. Comprising former CD Projekt Red developers who contributed to The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, Rebel Wolves brings seasoned expertise. Founded by brothers Mateusz and Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the studio prioritizes creative freedom, unburdened by the constraints of established AAA studios like CDPR.

“Our game isn’t as expansive in content or playtime—we’re a smaller team, and this is our first project, so it’s more contained. But we’re focused on delivering top-notch quality, even if shorter,” Tomaszkiewicz explained. He noted the campaign will span 30-40 hours, shorter than typical AAA titles like The Witcher. “Size isn’t the only metric. Games like Call of Duty aren’t 100+ hours, yet no one labels them AA or indie.”

The Blood of Dawnwalker is a dark fantasy RPG set in the enchanting yet perilous Vale Sangora. Players control Coen, a young peasant granted vampiric powers after a fateful encounter with a powerful vampire. His quest to save his dying sister drives the narrative, navigating a treacherous world filled with mystery and danger.

While no release date is confirmed, the game is planned for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a gameplay reveal expected in Summer 2025.
